The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum displays surviving military vehicles from various eras of military history. On display is the World War II aircraft the USS Intrepid, the submarine USS Growler, a Concorde supersonic jet, and a collection of airplanes that range from the wooden built planes of the early 20th century to the experimental planes of the last twenty years. The museum is located on Pier 86 in the west side of the city.
Closed for restorations until Fall 2008.
