The Staten Island Ferry has been carting passengers between lower Manhattan and Staten Island since the early 18th century, with over 20 million passengers yearly. A 25-minute ride provides excellent views of New York Harbor, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. The ferry departs from the southern tip of Manhattan, near historic Battery Park and lands at the northern tip of Staten Island.
